Bayshire Woods Loop

I can’t believe I haven’t written about this trail yet. I’ve been on it a ton of times! The problem was that part of this trail does not appear to have a name. Let me explain.

There is a black dotted line leading from Bayshire Wood loop to Iroquois Community Centre. But before I get into that, let’s start with how you get there.

First, you need to park at 1511 Bayshire Dr, Oakville. In front of you will be a loop trail around the pond. This is a part of the Bayshire Woods Loop. Folks love the pond because of the beautiful waterfowl. We have a local hobbyist (or perhaps professional?) who takes fantastic photos here and posts them sometimes.

Now from here, you could cross the woods and do the loop there. It’s short but fun.

If you are in for a longer walk, try the trail around the pond that branches to the northwest. If you get the right one, you can walk all the way to Glenashton Park (behind Iroquois Ridge High School). I really do like this walk. There’s a wonderful pond, open grassy areas, woods, and part of the trail has houses on one side – up until the ballpark.

Overall the trail is well-groomed with varied vegetation.

is a map of Bayshire Woods Loop by All Trails. If you look closely at the dotted line, you can see the trail to Iroquois Ridge HS.
