🍁 Best Places to Go For Fall Colours

This is a beautiful time to go out and see the reds, oranges and yellows that decorate our lovely trees. If you don’t have updated selfies or family photos, this is a perfect time to do it. But where to go to get great photos?

I have written about various trails and parks in past newsletters – any of which would have lovely fall colours. But for the definitive answer as to which one is best, I did two things:

  1. Ask people who hike lots, and
  2. Check to see what local organizations and publications think.

Let’s start with this goodie from Looklocal for a list of Halton trails and parks.

Then for Mississauga, the Active Adult Centre has an excellent listing.

These boots aren’t made for walking? Well then, why not grab a chairlift to see the fall colours at Kelso?

I hope you send me some great fall colours photos and let me know where you go!

Salmon Run

Salmon are swimming upstream right now.

Here’s where to go:

I consulted ToDoCanada on this matter and they had some great advice about where to see the salmon run in the GTA.

According to hikers groups, you can also see fish at 16 Mile Creek

Directions to get there.

Dog at Kelso in Fall
I just HAD to share this photo by Amandaa Anne from Halton Hikers FB Group. This is her dog enjoying the view at Kelso.
