Need a Getaway? Head to South Shell Park Beach

I recommend visiting this one if you haven't been there before. Many people may not be aware of this "adorable" Oakville Beach.

⛱ South Shell Park Beach 🏊🏼‍♀️

I went to this beach yesterday to take some up-to-date photos. And I’m pleased to say, it’s still an amazing beach to go and visit. There were families there, but not overpopulated.

I found this little gem last year while researching dog parks. While Shell Park on the north side has a large, beautiful green park, the south has a small, intimate sandy beach. There is a short trail there to take a stroll. The trail continues to the sidewalk of Lakeshore Rd as a part of the Waterfront Trail. And you’ll see a colourful children’s park from the parking lot. Parking itself is limited, so come early.

The beach itself is C-shaped, curving inward. It is also in a bowl, protecting it from the wind. This might be why the water is so calm and swimmable.

From this park, check out the scenic view of Lake Ontario. On a clear day, you could make out the CN tower (on the other side of those rocks).

I recommend visiting this one if you haven’t been there before. Many people may not be aware of this “adorable” Oakville Beach.
