🍺 Book the Brewbus Now For An Exciting Beer Tour!
Thanks to Burlington’s Winter Beer Festival, I discovered the Brew Bus company! Based out of New Market, this company services the GTA with trips to places such as Bobcaygeon, Durham Region, Huntsville/Muskoka, and more. My favourite was the weekend tour that is 2 nights in Muskoka and includes a spa. And get this – they bring junk food to your cabin! Can it get any better than that? Yes it can! If you get four people in a cabin, you get a free 20L keg! Sign me up I say!
I spoke to Tim Martini, the owner of Brew Bus who told me “our mission is to take you from where you live and bring you to breweries you’ve never been to before or may not even have known about. “
Basically all you need to do is pick an adventure, and the Brew Bus will take care of the rest. But why would Tim drive a rowdy gang around to local Ontario distilleries?
”I like seeing people interact again, laughing, and joking, “ said Martini. “It’s a glimpse of life before COVID.”
Tim also enjoys working with craft beer brewers. “The brewers have such a passion, they are not in it for the money. They are a community that shares and help each other out. They are not competitive; instead, they are a big family.”
Tim told me that craft breweries are interesting because they don’t “stick with the same 6 beers, they keep changing it up … always new ideas”.
Tim has always been a bit of a rolling stone adventurer. For him it began as a tour manager for bands that played mid 2000 rock. As the tour manager, Tim did the coordination, promotions and a lot of travelling.
Next, he started his own Youtube channel called “Exploring the Obscure” where Tim and his team travel worldwide, finding strange and unusual places, and buildings that most people have never heard of before. Then, COVID happened, and this adventurer started travelling more locally, looking for craft breweries.
“I traveled to North Bay, Parry Sound and many other places. Each week I went to a new town and visited all the breweries,” he said.
“In some places, there are many local breweries, but you can’t go to many in one day and still be able to drive,” he said.
So Tim looked into tour buses and discovered some local town tours but nothing cross-regional. And fewer still provided en route entertainment.
“Brew tours typically drive and drop you off and come back in 45 minutes, I discovered a gap that I could fill,” he said. “On our buses there is karaoke, music, trivia and all sorts of fun. I don’t drive the bus, I host.”
Tim says this combo of entertainment and fun while en route to various distilleries is a hit! In fact, he has so many requests, that he is now looking into adding a second Brew Bus to the fleet.
“Everyday, I get multiple requests, and I try to make it work for everyone,” said Tim.
But this globetrotting entrepreneur is not finished with his “Exploring the Obscure” Youtube Channel that presently has almost 1000 subscribers and accumulated over 409 thousand views. He plans to continue tripping around the world, finding the most unusual locations. It is not hard to believe this fascinating person would be the perfect tour guide when it comes to interesting and exciting things. So, if you are interested in a Beer Tour while driving around scenic Ontario, you might want to check out the Brew Bus!
