DOG PARK IN THE WOODS

Post Park in Oakville

Just went to lovely Post Dog Park in Oakville. Unlike most dog parks that are clearings, this dog park is like walking through the forest. The park itself is “L” shaped with a beautiful massive evergreen at the tip of the L.

Love this amazing evergreen at the corner of Post Dog Park!

When coming to this park, ignore the map directions which bring you to the entrance at Chartwell Rd. Instead, turn onto MacDonald Rd (north of the park) and find the parking lot there.

For those with the smaller doggies, you’d be happy to know that there is a fenced in small dog area.

Things to note:

  • parking available
  • some shade from trees
  • wooden benches for humans
  • no water tap (folks bring their own if they are staying for a while)
  • no restrooms
  • nearby children’s park (see picture below)
  • nearby soccer field

This dog park is my absolute favourite.  It’s a dog park and a forest bath at the same time.

While you’re there, make sure to say hello to some of the friendly dog owners there. Below is a photo of some of the ‘regulars’ I met at Post Dog Park during the spring.
