Although I saw this Oakville Leash-Free online, no one has commented on it yet. So, today, I decided to grab the dog and take a look.
So let me tell you about 16 Mile Creek Dog Park
First of all, there is a lot of construction all around Sixteen Mile Creek Sports Complex right now. If you haven’t been there before, you may have trouble finding it. For instance, this is what I saw when I got to the entrance:
The south entrance to the sports complex is closed for construction. However, the north entrance is open, so don’t be fooled by the large crane beside the entrance.
This dog park is directly behind the Sixteen Mile Creek Sports Complex building.
To get there, all you have to do is drive into the north parking lot of the sports complex and go around toward the back of the building. From there, you’ll see a large open dog park.
About The Dog Park
To be honest, this one is nothing to write home about. The area looks barren compared to a beautiful park such as Post in Oakville or Jack Darling Park Leash-free in Mississauga.
There is:
No water (bring your own)
No separate enclosure for smaller dogs
No shade
But there is:
parking
lots of space for the dogs to run
four picnic tables
The four picnic tables are spread out around the park. And the park is grassy except for some woodchips in the center.
So if you live near Sixteen Mile Creek Sports Complex, you’ll want to take a look at this large local dog park. It’s nice wide open field is a great place for your dog to play or fetch.
